Letters about the Hammack's Trip

Our long time friends from way back, the Hammack's, left yesterday. They came last Thursday and stayed here for the week. It was the coolest thing being able to see them again. I'll give a little overview of their trip from my perspective.
My mom picked me up w/ Bekkah in the car as a surprise... It was really cool being able to see her again, but I tried not to act too surprised... Showing emotion is unmanly... We didn't say much on the way home or the rest of that day to tell the truth. My mom said I was acting all weird... It's not that I was doing it on purpose, it's just that it was weird having a (another) girl in the house.
The second day we hit it off pretty well. The only thing that was different than when we were little was that we didn't fight as much, and I was allowed to drive. We got to go out to eat and go to the store and stuff, but I think a lot of the time that we drove around, I was running errands... sigh... so goes the life of a teenager.
It was really weird being able to hang out w/ a girl. Sure people kept thinking that we were "together", but neither of us liked each other more than a good close friend. That was also really cool. I've never been able to open up to a girl my age and talk that well. She has become a very special friend to me, and now that she left back for Texas I have been in a very depressed mood. I have decided to write some letters to people that were involved in making this trip possible (lol)... the sponsers as it were, but first I thank God for it. He was the one that made all of it possible, for all good things come from God.
Now... I have some letters to the rest of the physical sponsors:

To Josh (Bekkah's boyfriend):
I know that you were probably not happy about the fact that Bekkah spent almost every waking moment w/ another guy, or the fact that we had a blast, or the fact that we did everything together, or the fact that we have known each other forever, or the fact that Bekkah called you Michael on the phone that one night, or the fact that she is a closer friend to me than any other girl right now. You are probably not happy that they got to stay another day here either, but the truth is... It's not like Bekkah was going to somehow fall in love with me... Do you know me? Obviously you don't or you would know that I am a very rude and inconsiderate person. People don't fall in love with me like that. The other thing is... I wasn't going to fall in love with Bekkah either. It is true that she is not the ugliest girl in the world, but she doesn't eat anything, she is extremely picky about what she does eat when she does, she took two hours to get ready to go to popeyes and a store (we weren't going anywhere important). I also know that she has a boyfriend already and that alone would make me back off. So I sign of my letter to you with:
Josh... You can have her

To Kaitlyn (I hope I spelled your name right):
It was really cool being able to see you again too. You're so funny how you crack yourself up and your laugh makes everyone else laugh to. I'm glad that you kept my sister occupied while you were here or she probably would have tried to hang around me and Bekkah all the time. Even though you were mean (You tried to throw things at my head and you tried to make me shut up every time I was singing) it was cool seeing you again and I'm going to miss having you around.

To Mr. Hammack:
Thank you for letting your family come down to see us. I'm sure you were probably worried about the trip up and back and all that, but I'm glad that they were able to come down here. It would have been cool being able to see you again too. Also, Bekkah said that you were an extremely good dancer and I would like to see that sometime.

To Bekkah:
It was extremely cool to see you guys again. I had a blast while you were down here. Thank you for the great time. One of my favorites was the movie... Thank you for letting me see it! It's one of my favorites now. Also, thank you for sharing so much with me. I've never had such personal convorsations with a female type humanoid. Also, thank you for listening to me. Never before have a had a girl listen to as much monologing (spelling?) as I did while you were here. I wish it could have lasted longer, but I know you have a life and a boyfriend and such. I'm just glad that it happened at all. It's been really depressing not having someone to talk to wherever I go (the first thing I had to do this morning was go on base and run errands... and yes... I still parked far away). I'm glad that we got to have so much fun together. Also, thank you for being nice to all the weirdo's that I call friends. They can be pretty strange sometimes, but they mean no harm. Thank you for singing with me. I've never got to sing with such a talented singer before. You sooo need to record things... You could make some money w/ that voice. Thank you also for lying to me to make me feel better (about singing, rapping, and everything else you lied about). Your guys trip was Hardcore! Peace!

To Mrs. Hammack:
You're one of the coolest moms that I know. Thank you for bringing the girls down. I know you were stressing out a lot while you were here, but I enjoyed talking to you. I don't know why, but I've always been able to talk openly to you. You're almost like a second mom. You're also very funny! I know my mom enjoyed the time she got to spend w/ you. One of my biggest thanks is for not letting my mom get crunk with me as much as she would have. You kept me out of more trouble than I would have been in.

To My Friends Here in Nebraska:
Thank you guys for being kind to the company that we had the last week. The way they talked about you, you were pretty nice to them. They needed that since I was so mean... lol...

To the Hammack's Friends in Texas:
I would love to meet you guys sometime. Bekkah told me soo much about you guys. You all sound like nice people. Thank you for putting up with the Hammacks being gone for a week.

To the People that Gave Me Weird Looks When I Went to Wal-Mart Wearing My OJ Simpson Gloves and My Berret:
What are you looking at?

To the People at Popeyes Who Gave Me Free Food:
You ROCK!!! I loved the food. I haven't been there in like.... 50,000,000 years. I need to go there more often. I forgot how amazing your food is.

To the Ask a Ninja Guy:
What do you think about TMNT?

To People that Read My Blog but Don't Post Anything:
Oh c'mon... You're already here... Don't be lazy... post something... anything...

To the Makers of Extreme Days:
That movie Rocked hard! It is definately one of my favs now... I'm going to have to let all my friends see it!

To Underoath, Demon Hunter, Disciple, and all the other heavier bands:
You guys scare me... but thank you for letting me have something to say when I want to say something rocks hard.

To the creators of Yoshi Island:
That game rocks... I hate the music though...

To the makers of Monkey Island:
That is one of my favorite games of all time. I wish you would make more like it. I would definately be willing to buy back into the puzzle game genre. Besides, how can you get a better character name than "Guybrush Threepwood"?

To the People that actually read all of these letters:
Be thankful that I stopped here because I could go on forever, but thank you for actually taking the time to be such hardcore readers of my blog... Leave a comment!

Sorry It's Been So Long

Ok... I know I haven't posted anything for a while, but that's because I've been grounded. A TON of stuff has happened since I last posted, and I have a lot to say, so I'm going to post like 50,000,000 new posts.

Our friends the Hammacks visited this week. I'll go into detail about that l8r, but first I would like to talk about something I read in the Bible I read w/ Bekkah doing a little devotion. It was from Romans 13: 11 which says, "And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed." This verse has made me think really hard... Christians need to wake out of their proverbial sleeps and get off their hinies and shine Christ's light into the world... It reminded me so much of one of Switchfoot's new songs... I know the video is a little goofy, but the song still has a good point. Here it is:

The Basketball Banquet

Last night was my basketball team's annual banquet. It was where we thanked pretty much everyone even remotely involved w/ the program and ate and watched a highlight film. It was pretty neat... People always complain that it is too long though... In my opinion... they should just plan for a minimum of 3 hours, because it takes at least that long after all the coaches talk, everyone eats, and the 40 minute highlight film is over.

The food was pretty good. Some of the goodest stuff were the tacos and enchiladas, but there were countless other foods there that were delicious.

The highlight film was pretty good. It was made like a documentary on the discovery channel about a new speices of "Roadrunners" (Our team name). Some of it was funny, some of it sad, some of it extremely cool!

I sat at a table w/ almost all of my JV team. It was pretty cool seeing some of them again (not that it wasn't cool to see others, but some of them I see semi-frequently outside of basketball)

Anyway... by the time the thing ended, I was dead tired. I had been up late the night before and woke up at 6... I was ready to go home.

Easter Sunday

He is Risen!
Okay... This is the first real time I've had to sit down at my blog since Easter Sunday so I'm going to talk about it now... First of all, Christ is RISEN!!! Hooray... W/out Christ raised, our faith is useless... life would be meaningless and we would have to believe that we all came by accident and there is no purpose to life... How depressing... Thank God for His Son!
Our Sunday message was talking about just that... W/out Christ risen... there is nothing to hope for... The message was sooooo good! I was about to get a little charismatic and jump and yell "Hallelujah! Amen! Preach It Preacher!"
After the service we went downstairs to a wonderful smell. The church's easter meal. I grabbed one of everything and stacked it up on my plate! Ooooh it was good! Thank's to all the people who brought food! IT was extremely lucious!
That afternoon me and a bunch of my friends went to a park and played some two-hand touch football. It was great... I was shocked... I scored 5 touchdowns... I've never played football like that before... I'm going to have to do it more often.
After football I went out w/ two of my buds and had some ice cream at TCBY... It was a good Easter!
He Is Risen Indeed!

Who the Heck Plays Soccer In 4 Degree Weather?

This was the question I was asking myself this morning... It was my third game reffing and the high today was 36... I had a game at 9 in the morning w/ 15-20mph winds... With the wind chill it was about 4 degrees. The whole game I was thinking... this is totally not worth the $13 dollars I'm getting payed, but I was already out there so what the heck I said... I came home and took a 2 hour long hot bath... It felt soooo good. I needed it.

Tony Hawks Pro Skater...

I don't actually own this game, but the times when I play it at other people's houses disturb me. All of the nasty falls that the people are taking bring physical pain to me. It makes me cringe to play this game. It's like... they skaters will slide across the floor on their faces and then hit themself on a pole or something. Its just... not good.

Another music video that I like

This one is by my favorite band, Switchfoot. Some of you might recognize this song because they play it on K-Love sometimes. It's pretty cool!

Must Have Done Something Right

This is the video for a song from Five Score and Seven Years Ago. The song is, "Must Have Done Something Right". I love this song! I just thought I'd share it w/ everybody!

The "True" Kingdom Hearts Story

If you know me at all then you should know that one of my favorite video games are the games in the Kingdom Hearts series. I don't know what it is about the deep epic storyline, amazingly memorable characters, mixed with my favorite Disney movies that makes me like the game, but nevertheless, I do. Anyway... there are some videos on the internet that kind of make fun of these games. I think that everyone needs to see these videos because they are stinking hilarious!!! They are known as the Kingdom Hearts Chronicles. They are pretty easy to find on the internet so I haven't provided a link, but the names of the episodes are, "Kingdom Hearts Chronicles 1.1, Kingdom Hearts Chronicles 1.2, and Kingdom Hearts Chronicles 1.3". They should be watched in sequencial order. 1.2 wasn't the best, but 1.1 is pretty funny and 1.3 is stinking funny! (But you still have to watch 1.2 to get the whole thing) If you are familiar w/ the games then it will be even funnier, but if you aren't, ask me about it... I have time...

Even Stevens

Well... I'm kinda sad now. I was doing some research on my absolute favorite show of all time today (Even Stevens) and found out why it was cancelled. It seems that there is an unspoken yet mostly followed "Disney 65 Episode Clause" or something like that. Apparently, to avoid stagnation and the like, (Even though the show was very popular) after 65 episodes, Disney often ends there shows (Plus that's the needed number for syndication). So, the show ended because of some stupid clause that had nothing to do w/ what the fans wanted. I feel like suing or something, but it's a little late as the actors from that show are in their 20s now and it would be weird for them to go back to high shool. It just seems depressing to me that the best show ever put on the television was cancelled because of some stupid clause. Also, something else that was making me feel down was that I've now seen 62 of the 65 episodes. There are only 3 that I haven't seen. It's just really harshing my mellow when I start to realize that my favorite show only lasted 3 seasons and I've nearly come to the end of seeing all the new ones that will ever come to existence. I'm telling to what though... if they come out on DVD. I will be one of the first people to buy them...
All my Even Stevens people give me a comment w/ your thoughts!

My New Job

I have started my new refereeing job. I had my first game yesterday and my second game today. It was freeeeeeezing cold outside today. I was getting frostnip even with gloves on, but it wouldn't have been so bad if the wind wasn't blowing 5000000 miles an hour. Even so, the game went well. Both the games I have done so far were blowouts. Yesterdays was 8-1 and todays was 6-0. Anyways... the job is going good and I'm glad that I have the opportunity to do it. (And be involved in my favorite sport again)

Old Friends

My old old old time friends the Hammacks are visiting soon. (I have a link to Bekkah Hammacks blog on mine) It should be pretty cool having them here. It's been a long time since we've seen them. For a long time, I didn't keep in touch w/ them, but as of late, I've been talking to a lot of my old friends more.
I'm not sure what its fully going to be like when they come though... Will life go on as if they never left. Of course not, because everyone will be excited to see them and the like... I dunno i'm just thinking out loud.
It will be really cool to introduce them to my newer friends. Plus, I will be able to gross them out by taking them to King Kong, where I can allow them to eat one of the best burgers of all time.
Bekkah said that we would have to go to the mall while she comes... I don't think she knows much about the malls here. They're pretty small.
I could keep talking... but I can't think of anything intelligent to say. Plus, I am getting hungry again.

The Day After April Fools

So yesterday was April Fools day. I want to know what you guys did for it. I'm having a contest to see who had the pulled the best "fool" yesterday. Leave a comment saying what your biggest "fool" was on April Fools day and after a while I'll announce the winner!

The Snac

There was a SNAC with my youth(sunday night after church) where the youth group goes over to someone's house and eats and plays and just has a really good time while making a lot of noise.
Last night was a pretty cool one, first there was like a 7 foot baskeball hoop that I could do some pretty sweet dunks on. Me and my friend Steven were doing some pretty tight alley oops and stuff.
After I got all nasty and sweaty, I decided to go inside and borrow a guitar. The rest of the night for me was just a music fest. I tried to play some requests (the ones I could remember) and I always love playing guitar when other people can sing w/ me. One of the songs we sang was Company Car (Switchfoot). I don't think I've posted any recording of that song on the site probably because it is way to high for me to sing on any given day. Maybe some day I'll tune my guitar down or something and try to sing it. I played some Every Little Thing, a little bit of California, I even did some of Rebirthing which is the song I will record w/ my friend when she visits from Texas. I just love playing guitar and having people sing w/ me.
On the way home from the snac was pretty fun too because we got to sing even more. For most of the trip is was a big soul fest where we got to add soul to some of our favorite songs. This included Amazing Grace, I'll Fly Away, That Old Time Religon, Swing Low, The Solid Rock, and of course, Lean on Me! (And yes, I did do the rap part). Anyways... I have to get ready for my piano lesson. Peace Out!
